Geeveston Progress Association

The Geeveston Progress Association is a group of local residents and business owners who meet monthly to develop and promote our community in order to make Geeveston a great place to live and a great place to visit.
Although we are not strictly a business network or a tourism body, we believe that when local businesses thrive, the whole community thrives.
We explore opportunities without getting involved in political issues, and pursue funding on behalf of agreed local projects.
-
Wheels in the Park Car and Bike Show
-
Annual Art Show
-
Monthly Twilight Feast salmon sizzle.
We liaise with the Huon Valley Council to address local issues. One of our current projects is to reduce the speed limit in Church Street to 40km for pedestrian safety.
We oversee the collection of RV camping fees, and the funds are distributed via annual grants of $1000 each to 5 local community organisations. RV visitors are given a local welcome bag with information about local attractions and businesses.
Our coverage is from Surges Bay to Castle Forbes Bay.
Annual membership is $10 per person, business, or organisation.
Renewals fall due from 1 July each year.
